As a member of the Kentucky Writing Projects state network, the Northern Kentucky Writing Project has taken the lead in offering a statewide Technology Institute.

We have a strong affiliation with the Kentucky Writing Project state network. Currently, there are several TC’s from our site that serve on committees for the ELL, Common Core and Technology Networks. The Technology group provided statewide advanced institutes at various sites, one of which NKU hosted, and will host again in 2013. This Technology Institute at NKU is so well-received that we had the distinct honor of being the only site in Kentucky to offer three workshops over the course of six weeks that served over 60 classroom teachers. It continues to be one of the most requested professional developments for our area. The three TCs who lead the Technology Institute have developed a wiki for the group through PB Works that continues to be accessed by both past and present participants. The NKWP leadership team meets on a regular basis with the state network and the Kentucky Department of Education to discuss how to work with school districts in the implementation of the new writing plans based on the Common Core Standards and the Kentucky Core Academic Standards.
