TN West Tennessee partners to offer PD to teachers who attend Young Writers Conference.

Although not entirely new, WTWP continues with its third year in partnership with its host department at UT Martin—EMFL—to deliver Professional Development to teachers who attend the annual department-sponsored Young Writers Conference.  Last November, a group of WTWP TC’s lead a session called “Writing for the Fun of It: How to Create and Maintain a Student Writing Club.”  On November 13 of this year, two hundred high school students and dozens of teachers will be on campus for the conference.  WTWP sees this as both a perfect opportunity to offer quality PD to these teachers and a chance to tell them about the 2016 Summer Institute.  For the first time, WTWP is aiding in the payment to the keynote speaker, so the support from WTWP for this conference is greater than it has ever been.  The title of the breakout session for teachers for 2015 is “Efficient, Fair, and Effective Techniques for Grading Student Writing,” and it will be facilitated by WTWP TC Lana Warren.
