While I did my summer institute through the South Coast Writing Project (UCSB) in 2006, I am currently the co-director of the Cal State Northridge Writing Project. I also work closely with the California Writing Project on ISAW (Improving Student Academic Writing), a state-wide initiative that allows me to lead ISAW workshops in the LA area and around the state. I have also had the privilege to read student work for the Scholastic Writing Awards in California and am excited to now share how the best of this work can be wonderful models for our students. Over my 19 years in the classroom, I have taught grades 7-12 grades. Currently, I am the Academic Dean at Santa Clarita Christian School, a K-12 private school just north of Los Angeles, and teach the 9th grade honors intro to lit course and 12th grade AP lit course. I also have the privilege to work with future English teachers in the methods course at Cal State Northridge.
